  Commander's Comments:

Post 187 Pancake Breakfast:  We have conducted monthly community Sunday Morning Pancake Breakfasts for over a year. With each iteration of the breakfast, the Post and Auxiliary come closer together as a team. We share each others toils and frustrations for the greater advantage of our organization. Paul Lameo, Andy Litke, and Larraine and Ellie DeLois deserve a great deal of praise for their efforts to make the breakfast a success; and a success they are! Remember, the Pancake breakfast is our major fundraiser. Please bring your family and friends and join us at the breakfast. It would be a wonderful way to support the Post. Consider coming out and join us for breakfast. The breakfast is open to all and the cost is only $5.00. No more than $20.00 per family.

Post Roster Now Available: You have wanted to be able to download the Post Roster for quite sometime now. We have finally arrived at the capability to enclose the proper format to allow each of you registered member to download the roster for your own needs. To do so: please go to the Membership area of the WEBSITE and download the roster to your computer. The file is a “PDF” file. Good Luck! If you have trouble with these procedures, let me know.

Wounded Warrior Project:  The Post is collecting funds for the Fort Bragg Wounded Warrior project at every opportunity. You will see a glass jug at many of our fund raisers. This jug once collected will be presented to the Fort Bragg administers of the Wounded Warrior program. All of the money collected will benefit the wounded soldier and their family. Not one cent will be spent outside the program. So when you see the Wounded Warrior jug dig deep and show your support for those who are suffering from combat wounds. This project is also being cosponsored by the VFW.  Wake Forest has contributed over $6,000 thus far to this worthy endeavor. If you know of a venue that could serve as a “Wounded Warrior” collection point, please inform someone on the Executive Committee.

Veterans’ Helping Soldiers: There is a dire need for household items to help enlisted men and women at Fort Bragg?  Many of our lower ranked enlisted men and women qualify for “The Food Stamp” program. It is shameful that they are not afforded the meager means of self-sustainment. In an effort to assist these most important “Defenders of Freedom” local veterans are asking for any useable household items. Anything you have that will be of need for a young soldier setting up housekeeping. Appliances, furniture, post & pans, etc., are all needed. Bring household items to the Hudson-MacMilan Home. Items will be delivered to the Fort Bragg Airborne Attic where soldiers and the family will take anything they may need. We have sent four truckloads of household items to this activity in the recent months. Thanks to your support!
